Summary

SUMMARY:  Responsible for facilitating appropriate reporting requirements and solutions in support of the Medical Staff Services Department;  configuring, reporting, optimization and support functions for current database provider; provides guidance for Credentialing, Privileging and Enrollment workflows; focuses on data integrity, optimization integration and standardization for the organization.
 
DUTIES & ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:  NOTE: The following are the duties performed by employees in this classification.  However, employees may perform other related duties at an equivalent level.  Not all duties listed are necessarily performed by each individual in the classification.

1. Acts as a technical contact person between AHS and vendor for support issues.

2. Acts as assigned departmental liaison between vendors, the Information Services department, Finance, Patient Accounting, Human Resources, Contracting and other departments.

3. Collaborates with Information Technology (IT) on technical integration with other systems (HL7 interface to Electronic Health Record-EHR).

4. Collaborates with the quality department to implement principles of ongoing professional practice improvement and focused professional practice improvement are utilized within the Medical Staffs.

5. Coordinates ongoing upgrade activities with vendors and IT technical staff.

6. Develops and maintains systems for on-line application process.

7. Engages in Data management to support health plan delegated credentialing functions.

8. Evaluates system upgrades and recommends data processing solutions; coordinates the implementation of systems with management staff, Information Services department and vendors.

9. Maintains data for managed care, privilege and verification portals/modules.

10. Oversees software maintenance functions including security maintenance, file maintenance, database integrity, etc.

11. Performs other duties as required.

12. Performs oversight of provider licensing, expirables and Primary Source Verification procedures.

13. Provides on-going day-to-day support of Medical Staff Database, including management, user training and report generation.

14. Responds to health system and health plan requests for physician data/reports; I.e. 274 Flat File.

15. Supports all system issues, including issues with vendors and the health systems information systems department.

16. Tests, tracks and monitors the system data for accuracy, integrity, quality and reliability.

17. Works in partnership with vendors to resolve issues.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 

Preferred Education; Master’s degree.

Preferred Experience: Medical Staff credentialing experience.

Required Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Management, Project Management, Engineering or related field desired or significant experience in related field.

Required Experience: Three years of increasing technical experience in a database administrator or Information Systems role; Medical Staff and/or Healthcare experience, with recent experience in a hospital or similar setting; experience in SAP Crystal Reports, Microsoft SQL and data management.
 
Additional Details:
Preferred Experience: Crystal Report writing experience, including creating reports, running reports, qualty control and sharing data. 
Preferred Experience: Experience in Credentialing that is often done in a healthcare environment within the following departments: Medical Staff, Information Technology, Credentially, etc. 
 
Note: This position is located in Oakland, CA, however, can be done remotely (telecommuting) as well.
